I was curious if Exponential (stand alone install, not to be confused with the eZ Newsletter extension / module) supported multi-mime emails out of the box.

For example, we can edit the notification email template and format it for either HTML or plain text. Let's say we decided to format the template as HTML and we had a group of users who did not have access to email readers that displayed HTML content, what would be the end result?

Are emails sent in multi-mime format or is there an extension that allows for this?

if you need multi part mime you can use ezcMail from the components. There is no multipart mime build in Exponential... not yet

Understood, I just wanted to make absolute sure. Thanks for the prompt reply Björn.

Another nice free software mail library is Swift: http://www.swiftmailer.org. Compared to eZ Componenets, there's also a version of Swift for PHP 4 in case you're still using Exponential 3.10 or lower. Good luck!
