Hi,
imagine you have a folder with 4 subfolders and 50 articles. You sort the content of the folder by the publishing date.
Now you add a 5th subfolder. And this folder appears at the top or at the end of the children list.
After some time, you add 10 articles ...
And if you want to find the subfolders in this folder again -> that's a lot of fun because you have to click around.
So, my suggestion is: Seperate the classes in "folder classes" and "non folder classes" (= all other classes). That's defined in an array in the e.g. content.ini.
And separete the "children listing" in "folders" and "non folders -> content"
The usability will increase.

Hi Georg,
We use the folder class as an Article. So we would not like this change. Using a folder as an article sovles many problems, especially in naviagation. In the end a folder is just an article which special powers :)

Hi Tony,
*g* that leads to an "use html code in a text-field" discussion :-)
But I've an idea to solve that:Introducing a second "sort order" field would do the job.
Okay, that's not easy but have some advantages.
If you sort the children list by class and then by e.g. name, you could reach the same effect.
Of course, you can already sort the childrens by two and more criteras but that should be also adjustable by a user (and not only in an override template).

I am dying to know... Why the name change? The coder formally known as "Emil Webber"

I used "Emil Webber" as pseudonym, but Georg is my real name. And some guys were wondering why they got an answer from "Georg" while they had asked "Emil".
So I decided to stop use my nickname at ez.no :-)
