It insofar works, as it's possible to embed image into a XML block of an article, but in the embed window, the dropdown for the "size" property is disabled. So all images always get resized to medium size. Does anyone know how to enable the "size" property, so a user can change it? Is it a ini setting or do I probably have to override the admin template?

Figured it out myself:

You can only set the size property, when creating a new embedded object. If editing the article again, the size property of the embedded object gets disabled. Don't know why this should make any sense, but so be it.
