notification problem

hi all
i just re-installed Exponential version 3.3-4
and try to use the notification feature in the forum package.
when i press the "keep me updated" button in a forum and go to /notification/settings i can see the node name and node id of the forum i selected.
but when i run the cronjob i get the following messages (windows 2000 prompt):

Running cronjobs/workflow.php
Checking for workflow processes
Status list

0 out of 0 processes was finished

Running cronjobs/notification.php
Starting notification event processing
Done

the notification event is started but no email is sended.
note: the email are sended right (for example when the user asks to send a new password)
so i think that the NOTIFICATION feature doesn't work properly!!!

any suggestion?

why doesn't it works?
the Exponential site forum isn't made in the same way i try to create mine?
why the Exponential notification works while i'm not able to make my notification work?

without a working notification there's no reason to build a forum...

please help
