how can i add the image from image catalog like the feature in v2.2.8 (Add Item)?

Are you referring to object relation?
Some more info could be useful.

I've tried the objection relation but there are 2 questions

1. how can i control the display position (e.g. shown at left or right side of the paragraph) when the image is selected?

2. how can the image be shown in embeded format instead of just a hyperlink?

<object id="id"[ align="left|right|center" size="small|medium|large" class="foo" view="embed|text_linked" href="link url" target="_self|_blank"]/> where 'id' should be an existing eZ object id and all other attributes are optional. Attributes 'href' and 'target' are used to make object(image) as link.
