Inconsistent problem with removing objects

This is very difficult for me to describe as well as debug, because it's not consistent. Let's start from the beginning.
I've got a folder that I wish to remove. According to my role policies, I should be able to.
Now, 9 out of 10 times it works. I get the page that says:

Are you sure you want to remove these nodes?
Removing TestFolder will remove the node itself and it's 0 children!
Note: Removed nodes can be retrieved later. You will find them in the trash.

I click 'confirm' and the folder is gone.

The 10th time I try it, I get the same page, it just misses the line that says:

Removing TestFolder will remove the node itself and it's 0 children!

If I click on 'confirm' that time, I get a warning page with the message:

Unavailable
The object is not available.

And the folder is still there.
Could anyone give me a hint about a possible solution? It probably has something to do with roles, because as 'admin' I never have this problem. But I don't want my client to have that amount of freedom.
Please help,

Vivienne
