One of the authors on our site likes to use the en-dash. (the long -)

He normally puts his stuff in a normal article class. The problem is the header, putted in the title field.

If he just write - (not this, but the long one). It's shows up nicely, but http://validator.w3.org/ gives me:

Line 289, column 9: non SGML character number 150
<h3>?? Heading</h3>

If I try to substitute his - with one off this:

  &endash;  &151;  &#8211;

ez will not format them and they are written literally.

Any suggestions.

I have found no solutions yet, so I will appreciate a hint.
