Explorer type folder view?

This might seem like a real basic question, but this isn't my area of expertise, though it's been dumped on me...

For our content management system, we would like an Explorer type view, for example:
http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/alloydog/DMS/Image3.png (Link to image) (this has been made to as an example)
as compared to the current view:
http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/alloydog/DMS/Image2.png (Link to image)

I have looked through the online help and tried to find suitable hints in the technical guide (it's over 1880 pages!), but can find any help.

What do I need to do? Change a template or what?

For this you need to change/override that template.

The best way to "find" what template has to be changed is using debug option with "List of used templates" selected.
