However, when I am viewing my customzied user groups in the admin interface, I do not see the roles the groups have, but when viewing the default user groups I see their roles.. Can this be fixed by the init files or? Cheers Tore

The roles are fetched in a template override. Try to set the custom user group your using, to use the standard usergroup override template.
