Hi,
I want to redo our site which is a mix of a news site and a frontend to a (quite large) database. I wondered if someone had any suggestions on how to tackle the frontend part with Exponential (the news site part is ez). The concept is the following : a user can register himself on the site. The use can also add the sportsclub he is responsible for to the database. This way a db of sportsclubs is being build. There also has to be a frontend to this database for site visitors searching for information about a sportsclub. Is this feaseable in Exponential ? And would it be not too hard ? Also, I already have some tables with information, is there a best way to integrate them in Exponential ?Sorry for all these questions, but I would like to know at least in which direction to proceed.
Thanks a lot,
Henk

According to your problem description, EZP 3 is ready for the task, storing and searching customized content (user defined content classes ) is at the EZP 3 heart
Your main problem will be importing your data to EZP 3 DB format, you will need to code in php ( import script ) to do that
If you are a programmer you can study EZP 3 import scripts code, to figure out how to do it, you will find it at the contribution section in this site
Nevertheless, EZP 3 DB is complex so you may have a hard time to do it, if you don't know the inners of EZP 3
That's my opinion, of course!
