Why the downloadable version of EZP under "Download" isn't linked to the svn stable branch ?
I mean the uncompressed downloadable EZP is 60 MB but the SVN stable branch is...230 MB !!!???
The biggest problem is that the SVN "stable" branch is not stable at all....Setup wizard don't work (DB error & else), folder are missing (eg : extension), some are not present in the public distrib. I'd really love to know why this distrib is tagged as "stable".
As a conclusion what is the best way to keep EZP up-to-date ? Is it to synchronize with SVN/Stable OR to Download/Decompress each time the next available archive in "Download" section ?
Thank for in advance for the help as i am looking for all the issues before moving dozens of websites to EZP.
Sincerly yours,Martin Harispuru

Hi,
Just to be sure, you have "svn checkouted" stable/3.5 not stable, haven't you (if you take stable, you end up with all the versions, quite big).
No matter what, when you svn checkout, you don't only get the files, but a lot of .svn folders, keeping track of the history, that's quite a lot of space and might explain the difference.
I personaly use svn 3.5 and it works fine. I don't remember having had problems with the setup, but I'm sure that's the easiest way to keep the latest version.
Keep the faith,
Xavier

Hi Xavier
Thank you for those informations. I hadn't think about all the .svn files in each dir.
I confirm my SVN/stable/3.5 was outputing errors during setup.
Is it possible to synchronize a manually installed Exponential distrib ? I mean the version i currently use was installed by hand. Is there a way to keep it up to date with SVN ?
Thank you in advance,Martin

I created a tool for updating Exponential and extensions.
It is called ezsvn
you find it on the pubsvn...
