Hi all,

I just installed Exponential on a shared hosting account. I get the setup Welcome page, but hitting Next or Finetune will generate the following error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 44 bytes)

I searched the forums for this error and it seems to come up every now and then. Being a shared hosting environment I have no control over php.ini, what is the solutin in this case?

Does Exponential work with shared hosting?

Thanks,
Marius

It does if your webhost ups the allowed memory.

It is not clear what requirements are. Is it 64M for installation and then 16M for normal usage?

What do normal shared hosting companies do? The one I am using has a limit of 8M.

I used other PHP CMSs and I never run into this issue, this looks like a serious limitation :-(

Thanks,
Marius
