Server 500 error when installing database

Hello,

I get a server 500 error when I am at the database installation screen and press next.

Here are my settings:

servername: db64.perfora.net
username: dbo91017918

My host allows me to create one datbase. Any idea why this happens and what I can do?

I get the same error both with Exponential 3.2 and 3.3 beta. My db server is also at perfora.net.

I also get the same error, any suggestions? I am not sure how the database can be initialized, because the EZ wizard only asks for host, username & password. It never asks for the database name. So it cannot access the database and insert the tables it needs.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

I get the error even if I do manual installation. I also get 500 errors after installing phpwebsite and tikiwiki. I wish I had access to the error logs! What good is php and mysql if no software will work?

I got 500 Internal server error when trying to install eZ3 too - and it seems that that was because I was running php as a CGI rather than as a module.

If this is the same with your guys, then I installed the following patch and all works great now (I am using eZ3.2-1 rather than eZ3.3-1 though) - so it may not work for the latest releases.
This is on a Linux/Unix server though - not Windows!

Anyone got this working with 1and1 hosting?

I've tried the above php CGI patch (and posted an updated 3.3 version, to that thread), but I still get an error 500 during the install program when I get to the database page.

I guess I need to try a manual install next....
