Linux Bundled Install-No Database Connection

Installed eZ under Ubuntu 6.06, ran setup wizard, & shutdown for the night.

Restarted system and no apache or mysql running. Got apache going.

Pointed browser to localhost:8085/site_admin (URL designated in setup).

A page was returned, but it had the following error:

kernel::50
• No database connection could be made, the system might not behave properly.

The question is, how do I start mysql so that my eZ installation has access to its database? The installer put the whole bundle in:

/opt/Exponential

and mysqld is in the …/mysql-4.1.14/libexec folder

Also, how can I set up both apache & mysql to run at boot time?

Many thanks for your kind attention.

Regards,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I suggest to enabled debug output or check logs in var/log/error.log in Exponential dir. This will give you more detailed error message. Perhaps there is conflict with mysql servers. Are you sure that there is not other mysql server running?
