At the last step, Exponential prompt me to do the following:
How to do it when using Windows 2003 server / IIS 6?

Site security

Your site is not running in a virtual host mode, this is insecure. It is recommended to run Exponential in virtual host mode. If you do not have the possibility to use virtual host mode, you should follow the instructions below about how to install an .htaccess file. The .htaccess file tells the web server to restrict the access to certain files.

If you have shell access, you can run the following commmands.

cd c:\hosting\webhost4life\member\soibry\ezpub
cp .htaccess_root .htaccess

The .htaccess file has no function under IIS, it is used to configure the Apache webserver. I've tried to run Exponential under IIS (a while ago, using version 3.1 (I think)). Did not work for me..

If it is at all possible, consider switching to Apache.
