I tried to install Exponential 3.8 on my local nix box, with Apache 1.3.36 and PHP 4.4.2, everything installed just fine, PHP installed as static module. The finetune screen only have one notice about PGSQL which I'm not planning to use anytime soon.

On to the setup process, everything worked just fine until Site package selection screen, it said it can't connect to remote site to download package informations, it's ok I can upload one then (I have active Internet connection at that moment).

I downloaded plain_site.ezpkg and try to upload it, after the uploading process it display that screen again with nothing changed, I tried to upload several times b4 gave up.

I don't know if this is a bug, or it's just my installation of Apache and PHP, but can you plz just include one basic site package (like the plain one) since not everyone want to use Exponential default site packages (sorry that mean no offense), they want to use their own template/design...

I will try to setup Exponential the manual way, I think it will work, but this problem in setup wizard costed me tons of time which I can save.

Normally I install Exponential with plain site package and cuztomize Exponential from there on.

Sorry if my English is broken, hope you can understand what I mean.

Hi

Welcome to the eZ community!

Does your webserver have write permissions on var/storage/packages?
