UPDATE: I moved the cgi-bin folder out of my root and into the ez directory. This has eliminated the No INput file Specified error. But even though I added this code to the .htaccess file, I'm still getting the warning about not enough memory. Here is my entire .htaccess file...

# Copy this file to a new file called .htaccess in your Exponential root
# to make the site more secure in non-virtualhost mode (index.php used in urls).
#

<FilesMatch ".">
order allow,deny
deny from all
</FilesMatch>

<FilesMatch "(index\.php|\.(gif|jpe?g|png|css|js|html)|var(.+)storage.pdf(.+)\.pdf)$">
order allow,deny
allow from all
</FilesMatch>

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule !\.(gif|jpe?g|png|css|js|html)|var(.+)storage.pdf(.+)\.pdf$ index.php

Action application/x-pair-sphp4 /cgi-sys/php-cgiwrap/myusername/php4.cgi
AddType application/x-pair-sphp4 .ph
php_value memory_limit 16m

Any ideas?

I'm installing on a shared server.

I installed relatively successfully earlier today but was warned of several things during the "fine tune". I was alerted that I needed to increase the memory, I was alerted to various chmod that needed to happen, and I was alerted that "AcceptPathInfo is disabled or running in CGI mode".

I did the chmod but ignored the memroy warning and the AcceptPathInfo and things actually seemed to work. I was playing around in admin for quite a while but I ultimatelyI decided to scrap the installation and start over.

I contacted my ISP and was told to do the following...
1. to copy php4.cgi to my own cgi-bin directory, which I did. It is in my root.
2. to chmod ~public_html/cgi-bion/php4.cgi, which I did
3. To add the following to my .htaccess file
Action application/x-pair-sphp4 /cgi-sys/php-cgiwrap/username/php4.cgi
AddType application/x-pair-sphp4 .php

The .htaccess file is in the root folder of Exponential directory

I unpacked the file.
I created the database and I attempted to start the install process using the setup wizard. But I got the following error in my browser window "No Input File Specified"

Now I'm dead in the water.

If I remove the modifications to the .htaccess file, then the setup wizard proceeds seemingly normally.

What should I do?

Hi, if you are able to change the memory_limit in your enviroment, set it up to 32 MB or so. Exponential needs quite some memory for compiling the templates.
