I'm having a little difficulty in getting Exponential 3.5.0 to connect to my MySQL database. I have tried every username and password associated with my databases and always get "The database would not accept the connection, please review your settings and try again." back.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm having exactly the same problem. I found a bug (no 4384) that seemed to be reporting the same problem in 3.4 and it had what looked like an easy fix but I've no idea how to get hold of what it was in detail?

Have you double-checked your database settings?

Try to turn debugsettings on to get a more specific error message.

Add

[DebugSettings]
DebugOutput=enabled

to your settings/override/site.ini.append.php
