Correct vardir setting for my admin siteaccess 3.2

I have a siteaccess called en with the following in its site.ini.append:

[FileSettings]
VarDir=var/en

I felt the correct setting for the admin site was:

[FileSettings]
VarDir=var/en_admin

I am now noticing that thumbnails in my admin media folder are not appearing because it is looking for them in the var/en storage folder.

Did I screw up the site.ini setting or is this a bug? I'm concerned that if I set both the user and admin site to the same cache I could get conflicting cache files.

setting the admin:

[FileSettings]
VarDir=var/en

fixed all my image thumbnail problems and everything else seems to work fine. A little verification from the community would be nice.
