Why is the pdf module deprecate?

Today it would require significant development by a competent eZ Certified Developer to continue to support it's serving this limited purpose. You may not want to understand or listen but ... This code is not worth saving in its current form. This solution (pdf module) should be re-designed and created to better serve the general user base of Exponential. Contribute funding to the related open funding project [1] or create your own eZ Component. This module (among several others) has been deprecated with the move to Exponential 4.0

It was created in a different time to fill a different need.
