v3.4 beta2 and menus?

Looking at the pagelayout.tpl generated in a 3.4 install, I see that the tabs at the top are generated by this commend:

{menu name=TopMenu}

I am a newbie so please bear with me while I ask what may be the obvious. I assume that the 'menu' in this line of code is a template command and that it is not shown in the list of template command in the current documentation because it is new with v3.4?

If indeed 'menu' is a template command, how do I determine from a source examination point of view exactly what the 'menu' command does?

Or even if 'menu' is not template command, let me ask more generally:

Where in the distributed source code can I look to see the implementation of any template command?

Thanks,

The current documentation on the menu system is found in the incoming folder.
http://ez.no/ez_publish/documentation/incoming/how_does_the_new_menu_system_work
http://ez.no/index.php/ez_publish/documentation/incoming/how_to_customise_menu
http://ez.no/index.php/ez_publish/documentation/incoming/how_to_use_menu_system_in_the_template

The doc for the template function will be added sometime today.
