problem with class modification

If I do a very small modification to one of my classes, for instance only change the name of a class field (not the identifier) than afterwards, when I input content in that class some faults occures:
1. The little Icon of class in admin disappears and, more important
2. Each field in the inputform for that class in admin renders twice?? (confusing for a user)

I dont know wether this is a "normal behaviour" of ezp, or there is a possibility to avoid that.
For the moment it is ok, I simply delete the item and recreate (But this is no longer an option, when there is a lot of content in)

Is it basically not possible to make little changes to classes afterwards?

So, does every class have to be perfect "before" I begin to put data in my cms-site?

greetings
