Although french translation is not fully complete in OE 4.0. Translation file from 3.1.1 is used there, and about 30 strings are missing. We just still can't find a person who can do it. But most of the text including interface labels should be presented there as they have not been changed since 3.1.1.

You should really just set French locale in Exponential, thats all! And of course clear all caches after that.
