Hi all

I have been trialling Exponential now for a couple of weeks and I am beginning to understand it, and I am very impressed with the product. I am looking for a cms of this type that I can hopefully sell to my clients.

Now here is what I can not understand: I have been a web developer for about 6-7 years now and have a fairly good understanding of these types of things, HOWEVER, if I roll this out for a client to manage their website they are going to get lost within 10 seconds. From what I can see, Exponential is not a system for a novice or a beginner of any sort.

So, is it me? Am I missing something crucial here, or does Exponential require an experienced person to support a website running this product? If this is the case does anyone have any simpler alternatives for a cms that the average client could learn and use??

regards
mc

Hi

We know the admin interface in Exponential can have a steep learning curve, and we're working on the problem. For the 3.5 release we're going to focus mainly on GUI improvements. Please see this article for our initial thoughts on redesigning the admin interface : http://ez.no/community/news/the_administration_interface_project

Feedback from the community is much appreciated.

I personally think that ezSystem has a good product. I have been a web developer for over 3 years and have found Exponential to be quite robust. That said, I think what this product needs is a quick "here's how to modify the templates" tutorial followed by a "here's how the whole thing works" tutorial. I think that as users of this product see it look the way they want they will then understand how it can be used for their purposes.

Does this make sense?
