Reading the 3.8 changelog it says:

If you are upgrading from a version prior to Exponential 3.5.2 you must follow the upgrade path version by version until version 3.5.2 is reached. You can then follow the steps in this document.

Do I understand it correct and can I upgrade in one step from 3.5.2 to 3.8.0?

From 3.5.2 -> 3.7 -> 3.8

Installation instruction you can find in the documentation.

Thanks Lukasz,

documentation is not really clear on the update path, so thanks for your answer. Next problem I got is that every installation above 3.7.0 gives an updatescript error:

Fatal error: Exponential did not finish its request
The execution of Exponential was abruptly ended, the debug output is present below.

It could be my installation, but how to debug this because I never get a debug output below.

Try put in second line in the update script which you run code:

error_reporting( 2047 );

Then run it again.

I have the same error message at the same place, and no debug output. I'm afraid I don't understand quite what you mean, Lukaz, or if I do, it doesn't work :)

Inserting that line at random places that could make sence, doens't give any helpable output.

How do I get the debug output for the update-script, and how do I get around the problem?

I'm migrating the site from one server to another, and upgrading from 3.6.0 to 3.8.3. The new server is running Apache/1.3.34 (Ubuntu) PHP/4.4.2-1build1.
