For our e-commerce projects we use a customised country datatype, originally based upon the datatype from the contributions. I've wanted to checkin this into pubsvn for a while but didnt get around to it.

The one we have doesn't have all the bells and whistles and isnt optimised but has a few new features. I remember hearing at the recent conference of other country datatypes and wanted to try to focus development of this datatype further.

Things lacking from our datatype include: translations, script for updating country codes, fast php function to the country array. We have included default countries, country ini files, with some clean ups. What do other people have?

I'll add the datatype shortly and try to continue discussion of it here.
