Top Drop css menu display problems (order and IE8)

Hi,
I am using the Topdrop menu extension and it seems to work for IE7 and Firefox (not sure about IE6 yet) apart from the fact that when the menu drops it hides behind other elements on the page. I tried using z-index b ut that didn't solve the problem.
The other problem is that in IE8 it doesn't display at all. It behaves in a weird way and the sub items look squashed and in the wrong place.

Any suggestions?

I'm experiencing the same problems with the topdrop menu extension. It doesn't work with IE8.
I hope somebody has suggestions to fix this.

It's a CSS problem but it needs a fix. It's like the margins, bg colours and padding need fixing...
