I am having an interesting problem with the permission system.

I am trying to allow streaming content to be played by various streaming media players. Similar to the standard QuickTime, Flash and Media player types however I require users to only read after logging in.

Using this method the external players cannot play any of the content.

The web browser however can play the content. When I check the log files I am told that "Policies do not match". (only when using an external player)

The privilege system seems to prevent it being played even if it's on the same machine

If I turn off permissions the files play correctly.

I have tried altering to the passthrough binary file type but that makes no difference.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and is their any solution to it?

I have written an streaming mp3 module to accommodate this functionality but this particular issues causes me to hit a wall.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Fats
