Fatal error from two separate Exponential installations?

I have few Exponential installations coexisting and running on the same VMWare virtual machine (linux) as a development environment. Today I have encountered the following fatal error with reference to two separate installations:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare templateinit() (previously declared in /var/www/ezhome/ezhome_05/kernel/common/template.php:28) in /var/www/ezhome/ezhome_16/kernel/common/template.php on line 28

How should I interpret the message? I have checked for any cross-reference between the two installations, but there's none - they both have separate complete structures, databases, directories... Would that be a problem with Exponential or is it the PHP/memory/VMWare/hardware issue? How concerned should I be?
